Municipal entomologists visit Kalighat area in search of dengue mosquitoes
Digital Desk: Kolkata Gradually dengue spread. Recently, Visakh Mukherjee, a resident of Kalighat area, died due to dengue. On Friday there was a visit by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation. And that’s when it came to know that another teenager in the area was infected with dengue. But for now the teenager is stable. Debashish Biswas, chief entomologist of Kolkata Municipality, said that larvae of Aedes aegypti mosquito were found from four houses in the area. Seven water containers contained dengue mosquito larvae. But entomologists visited the home and school of the teenager who died of dengue. But no mosquito larvae were found in those two places. Besides, the report came back negative in the first place where deceased teenager Visakh Mukherjee was tested. The municipality is looking for that test center. Campaign to prevent dengue infection started in Kolkata. A stern warning is being issued.
