More than 300 people have died in floods in Nigeria

Web Desk: Nigeria is battling its worst floods in more than a year, which have killed more than 300 people so far.
Nigeria’s National Emergency Management Agency says half a million people have been affected by the floods in 27 of Nigeria’s 36 states and the capital, and about 100,000 people have been displaced.
According to Nigerian media, the floods have also destroyed thousands of hectares of agricultural land, raising fears of food supply disruptions in Africa’s most populous country.
Authorities blamed this year’s floods on overflowing water from some local rivers, unusual rains and the release of excess water from the Lagdo Dam in the northern region of neighboring Cameroon.
It should be noted that the Hydrological Services Agency of Nigeria has predicted more floods in 2022 than last year.
