In solidarity with the people of Rwanda, India illuminated the Qutb Minar on the 30th anniversary of the Rwandan genocide. The tower was lit up in the colors of the Rwandan flag. Let us tell you that about eight lakh people lost their lives in the 100-day genocide in Rwanda in 1994. It is considered among the most horrific massacres in history.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared the post
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared a post on social media platform X. He wrote that the Qutb Minar is lit up by India in the colors of the Rwandan flag in solidarity with the people of Rwanda. According to him, Economic Relations Minister Demo Ravi will represent India at the 30th commemoration. He also shared a photo of the Kutub minaret bathed in light and Economic Relations Minister Ravi Hachum placing a wreath in Rwanda’s capital Kigali. Earlier on Saturday, the Ministry of External Affairs said that during his visit to Rwanda in April this year, Ravi represented India in the 30th commemoration.
