Before NBC senior executive Mike Sington has come under heavy criticism after he called Baron Trump, the only son of former president Donald Trump and Melania Trump together, “fair game”.

The youngster turned 18 on Wednesday and prefers to stay out of the limelight compared to the other children of the businessman-cum-politician. The focus of the press has been more on the other children.

Sington, in a post on Wednesday, said: “Barron Trump is 18 years old today. It’s fair game now.” But he later took it down after heavy criticism.

Speaking to Newsweek via X’s direct message on Wednesday, he said: “I posted that it’s ‘fair game’ now, which means, as an adult, it’s ‘fair game’ for criticism from the press.”

“Someone pointed out to me that ‘fair game’ could mean fair game to be harmed. I don’t wish physical harm on anyone, so I took it down. I listen to the comments and criticism I accept it.”

Republicans did not respond well to the formerNBC the comments of the senior executive. Some even called it “healthy.”

Garrett Ventry, former senior communications adviser to the Senate Judiciary Committee Republicans, said: “This is very appalling.”

Trump, who is facing several serious legal challenges, is the Republican presidential candidate for the 2024 elections and will go up against Joe Biden, who is behind in polls.
