In another innovative move for its employees, domestic social commerce platform Meisho has announced an 11-day company break from October 22 to November 1 this year to refresh the mental health of employees. Called Reset and Recharge, the industry-first initiative will allow Meesho employees to “completely disconnect from work and prioritize their mental well-being” after the hectic festive sales season.
Meesho announced the move, which is the second year in a row, is a “reflection of our continued commitment to creating a people-centric workplace that truly cares about its employees – our greatest asset”.
At a time when burnout and stress have emerged as top concerns for today’s workforce, Reset and Recharge will show other companies the way to adopt similar employee-first practices, the company said in a statement released Wednesday.
“To create a great corporate culture, one must acknowledge that work-life balance, rest and rejuvenation are important to employee well-being. By resetting and recharging, we continue to push the envelope and redefine conventional workplace norms,” said Ashish, Chief HR Officer, Meesho. Kumar Singh said.
“Employees can choose to decompress however they want – whether it’s spending time with near and dear ones, traveling or taking up a new hobby. Such progressive policies have helped increase our employee centricity and industry-leading retention rates.
Meesho has pioneered several industry-first and forward-thinking policies such as the borderless workplace model, borderless health leave, 30 weeks of gender-neutral parental leave, and 30 days of gender reassignment leave. The Reset and Recharge policy extends the company’s concerted efforts to create a dynamic workplace built on the pillars of employee flexibility and empowerment.
In February, Meisho announced its first-of-its-kind borderless workspace model. With this model, the company has given its employees the power to choose to work from home, office or any place of their choice. With a focus on seamless employee experience, Meesho has enabled its workforce with real-time and virtual collaboration tools.
By providing opportunities for teams to meet and collaborate in person, the company at that time introduced initiatives such as trips to attend quarterly summits and annual work in places like Goa. To support working parents, Meisho announced that it will offer day care facilities for employees with children under the age of six. It can also be obtained on an official visit to Meesho’s head office in Bangalore.
Its comprehensive MeeCARE program, designed to improve the holistic well-being of the company’s employees and their families, helps employees balance their professional and personal goals, Meesho said. MeeCARE encompasses a range of wellness initiatives through policies, benefits and other interventions, the company said in its statement.
Meesho was recently recognized by xto10x’s “Startups Employees Love” in the categories of ‘People Excellence’ and ‘Best for Women’.
