The aim of this campaign is to free women from the tribal, tribal and poor parts of this area from problems related to the genital organs, because the swelling of genital organs is later in the form of pre-cervical cancer and later it is turn into cervical cancer. In each Mega Mahila Camp, 30 to 40 government gynecologists are trained in digital video colposcope and cryo machine, so that there is no hindrance in examining and treating needy women. Due to repeated training, now they don’t spend as much time in OPD for cervicitis ie pelvic inflammatory disease, VIA and VILLI tests for pre-cervical cancer and cryo treatment as it used to take earlier. And so a very large network of government gynecologists trained by the Women Doctors Wing has been created in the state.

What is the Jharkhand model?
In order to eliminate cervical cancer among women in Jharkhand, Women Doctors Wing in collaboration with the Government of Jharkhand has prepared a special scheme Jharkhand Model.

In 2021, the Department of Health, Government of Jharkhand and a team of women doctors under the leadership of Dr. Bharti Kashyap, after long discussions with the best cancer gynecologists in the country, concluded that the WHO’s cervical cancer eradication policy of 90-70 -90, in the third If we take this part and adapt it and implement it in Jharkhand, then we can have a lot of success in eradicating cervical cancer in a low resource state like Jharkhand. Then it was decided to implement this Jharkhand model created for a state with limited resources in the state.

In 2021, this decision was sent to all civil surgeons for implementation by the then campaign director. After talking to oncologists, it became clear that if we screen 6% of women with reproductive potential who are in the high risk category or have possible symptoms of genital inflammation and if we treat them, then we will be successful in screening 100% of women suffering from genital inflammation. At present the number of such women who have reproductive capacity in Jharkhand is 2,70,000 (two lakh seventy thousand). Acting on this, the Honorable Minister made it mandatory to test 6% of such women in 2021. Apart from this, under the Safe Motherhood Scheme, it was also made mandatory to screen the women who come after twelve weeks of having a child and the women who come with them, who are in a high risk category or who have any possible symptoms. The Department of Health has implemented this model in Jharkhand and through this, it has ensured the screening of 6% of women of reproductive potential who have symptoms of genital inflammation or fall in the high risk category of oral cancer the uterus Letters to this effect have been sent to civil surgeons several times by NRHM. It was also ensured that pregnant women who come for examination during the first week of pregnancy and their female partners are also screened if they have any symptoms of genital enlargement or are screened for cervical cancer. There have been very positive results from this initiative. A target of 2,70,678 (two lakh seventy thousand six hundred and seventy eight) has been set for cervical cancer screening by the Women Doctors Wing, IMA and the State Health Department for the financial year 2021-2022 between April 2021 and March 2022 .And so far a total of 3,49,784 (three lakh forty nine thousand seven hundred and eighty four) such women with reproductive potential have been screened.
