A new method was devised for this. The Law Officer has been exempted from the system of passing the map and the Additional Administrator has been given the responsibility of checking the land documents linked to the map. While, earlier too, cases of corruption had repeatedly come to light because the administrative officer was responsible for checking the documents relating to land. Despite this, the corporation gave the responsibility of checking the documents to the administrative officer. As a result, the process of passing the map has slowed down. More than 700 maps are pending in Municipal Corporation and RRDA. The corporation has also returned hundreds of map requests. Because, in most cases, the documents submitted by the applicants were not self-attested. When returning such applications, instructions have been given to self-certify receipt of land title, deed, rent receipt and holding number.
