Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam was expelled from the party. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharj has reportedly approved Sanjay Nirupam’s expulsion following complaints of indiscipline and anti-party statements. Sanjay has been shown the door from the party for six years. The order will take effect immediately.

Earlier, Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patul said the Congress had removed Nirupam’s name from the star gymnastics list. Apart from that, disciplinary measures were also taken against Nirupam for his statements against the leadership of the party and the state unit.

Sanjay Nirupam’s ultimatum to Congress

Meanwhile, Sanjay Nirupam also gave an ultimatum to the Congress by publishing in X . He wrote, ‘One time has passed and now tomorrow I will make the decision myself.’ In his message, he wrote that the Congress party should not waste much energy and stationery on me, but should use its remaining energy and nerves to save the party. In any case, the party is going through a severe financial crisis. It is noteworthy that Sanjay Nirupam is upset for not getting the ticket from his favorite Lok Sabha seat.

What did Nirupam say about sharing the seats?

Nirupam, a former MP from Mumbai North, made the statement after Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT) announced its candidates for four of the six Lok Sabha seats in Mumbai. Nirupam said the Congress leadership should not allow itself to bow down to the Shiv Sena (UBT). Sanjay Nirupam expressed strong opposition to Shiv Sena’s list, saying: “They want to contest for five seats in Mumbai and will leave it to the Congress as a donation.” This decision is to eliminate the Congress in Mumbai. I condemn this decision.

Nirupam said Thackeray did not follow the coalition dharma by announcing candidates unilaterally. The Congress leader also opposed the nomination of Amul Kirtikar as a candidate from the North West Mumbai seat. Amul is an accused in the Hikdi contract scam and is being investigated by ED for it.
