As the dates for the Lok Sabha elections draw closer, political parties have started holding rallies. Meanwhile, Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday attacked the BJP. He said that the forefathers of BJP supported the British and Muslim allies against the Indians in the freedom struggle. It is worth noting that Mallikarjun Kharge’s response came after Prime Minister Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress.
Ideological forefathers of BJP supported the British – Kharj
Sharing a post on social media, Mallikarjun Kharj said that the political and ideological ancestors of Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah supported the British and Muslim League against the Indians in the freedom struggle. Their ideological forefathers opposed Mahatma Gandhi’s ‘Quit India’ call in 1942, which was a movement led by Maulana Azad.
Shyama Mukherjee received support from the Muslim League – Kharj
Mallikarjun Kharge said everyone knows how Syama Prasad Mukherjee formed his governments in Bengal, Sindh and the North-West Frontier Province in the 1940s in alliance with the Muslim League. Didn’t Shyama Prasad Mukherjee write to the then British Governor how the Quit India Movement of 1942 could be ‘opposed’ and how the Congress should be suppressed?
