The Maharashtra government on Tuesday appointed senior bureaucrat Dilip Gowda as the new divisional commissioner of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, the largest city in Marathwada region. He will replace Medukar Ardad. Meanwhile, the Shavas officer in the 2004 batch, Praveen Pawar, will be the next police commissioner of the city. Pawar currently serves as the Joint Commissioner of Police in Pune. After the retirement of the city police commissioner, Manoj Lohia, Inspector General (Anti-Naxal Operations) Sandeep Patil was appointed acting police chief.
