A house was caught in a store fire
The incident took place around 5 am on AN Gaikwad Road in Chembur East. BMC said that the fire broke out in the shop on the ground floor and the family lived in the house above. The fire of the store reached the house above, and as a result the whole family was injured. An official said that the ground floor of the building was used as a shop and the upper floor was used as a residence. According to him, the fire broke out in the electrical wires and other equipment of the store located on the ground floor and later it engulfed the upper floor as well.
The fire could be extinguished by 9:15 am
The official said that immediately upon receiving information about the fire, fire brigade vehicles arrived at the scene and the fire was extinguished by 9:15 am. The family members were burned in this incident. They were taken to Rajwadi Hospital where the doctors declared them all dead.
Zone 6 DCP Hemraj Singh Rajput said, “We got information about the fire around 6 am. There was a shop on the ground floor and the family lived on the top two floors. Seven people died in the accident and two people who were sleeping in the shop survived. Our team and the fire brigade team are investigating the incident and trying to find out how The fire broke out.
