A large number of devotees from India and abroad had reached the Mahakal temple since late night to participate in Bhasmarti. A different fervor is seen at the Jyotirlinga Mahakal temple on Holi.

Holi celebration started with Bhasma Aarti early yesterday. The priests played Holi with Lord Mahakal with 51 quintessence of flowers.

After this, at night aarti also the priests celebrated Holi by offering gulal to God. It is worth noting that as per Mahakal temple tradition, after the evening aarti, the priests worshiped the Holika made in the temple premises and burnt it with Vedic mantras. The first Dhulendi festival in the country is celebrated in the king’s court.
