New Delhi: Filing of nomination papers for the Lok Sabha Elections is in full swing in the national capital, New Delhi. Late BJP leader Sushma Swaraj’s daughter Bansuri Swaraj along with 13 candidates filed their nomination papers on Tuesday. Bansuri, who has contested as a BJP candidate from New Delhi, has disclosed the details of his properties in his election affidavit.

19 crore friends

According to the affidavit, Bansuri’s total assets are more than 19 crores. He is said to have 11.27 crore of movable property and 8 crore of immovable property. Besides, they jointly own a property worth Rs 99.34 lakh in Palwal, Haryana, two flats in Jantar Mantar, Delhi and one flat in Haley Road, he said. It is revealed in the affidavit that he owns two vehicles apart from a Mercedes Benz car bought in 2023.

68 lakhs in annual income

40-year-old Bansuri, who is a lawyer by profession, has declared his income as Rs 68.28 lakh in the IT returns for 2022-23 in the document submitted along with the nomination paper. He graduated from Warwick University with a BA (Hons) in English Literature and studied law in London. After completing his law studies at the ‘BPP Law School’ there, he practiced as a solicitor at the ‘Inner Temple’ court and qualified as a barrister.

Fight in the election for the first time

After completing his Master’s Degree from St Catherine’s College, University of Oxford in 2009, he began his legal career. He joined active politics last year and identified himself with the BJP. Elections to all seven Lok Sabha constituencies in Delhi will be held on May 25, and the filing of nominations, which began yesterday, will continue until May 6. The Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi revealed that a total of 26 candidates have so far filed their nomination papers.
