Rohtak DC and Returning Officer Ajay Kumar said that the Election Commission of India has issued guidelines on dos and don’ts during the elections for candidates and political parties contesting the Lok Sabha General Elections- 2024. Public spaces such as grounds and helipads should be freely available to all competing parties and candidates. During elections, criticism of other political parties and candidates should be limited to their past policies, programmes, records and actions only. Furthermore, every individual’s right to a peaceful and discreet domestic life must be fully protected. The local police authorities should be fully informed and the necessary permission should be obtained in good time regarding the time and location of the proposed meeting.
