GUWAHATI: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued an official memorandum mandating the linking of the Beneficiary ID of Government Health Services (CGHS) with the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) ID from April 1, 2024.

Under the CGHS scheme, central government employees, pensioners and their dependent family members are provided with comprehensive healthcare services. More than 4.4 million people in 75 cities are currently registered under this program. However, only 21,362 CGHS IDs were linked till April 2 with ABHA ID, according to information on the CGHS dashboard.

A source close to the development said the move is aimed at creating digital health identification of CGHS beneficiaries and permanently accounting for their digital health records under ABDM, bringing different schemes on one platform.
