Islamabad: The ongoing investigation into the ‘suspicious letters’ issue has revealed that the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has obtained the forensic report of the powder found in the letters, ARY News reported on Friday, citing sources.
Sources close to the development revealed that the CTD received the forensic report of the powder found in the ‘suspect letters’ which revealed a significant amount of arsenic in the powder.
According to the legal report, 15 percent of arsenic – a deadly toxic substance – was found in the powder.
The report stated that more than 70 percent of the arsenic in the powder is highly toxic and that inhaling arsenic has a severe effect on human nerves.
Sources indicated that the report of the letters that reached the judges of the Supreme Court will be received in the next two days.

Earlier this week, the eight judges, including the chief justice of the IHC, received letters containing ‘anthrax’.
According to court officials, one of the letters was opened by a judicial team and an unidentified powder was found in it.
Upon the discovery of the suspicious material, a team of experts from the Islamabad Police arrived at the Islamabad High Court complex to analyze the situation.
The main focus of the investigation revolves around determining the nature of the powder and its potential threat.
Sources in the court revealed that in addition to the powder, the letters also contain threatening signs.
According to court sources, the letter was written by a woman named Resham, with no specific address.
In response to the situation, the Islamabad High Court took proactive steps by summoning senior police officials to provide updates and coordinate efforts aimed at ensuring the safety of the judiciary.
