Kharagpur: Deadly attack on former Trinamool councillor’s husband, firing in the air Achi-News

Bhaskar News Ranjit Sakhre, husband of former Trinamool councilor Anjana Sakhre of Ward No. 15 of Kharagpur Municipality, was attacked by social opponents around 7.30 am on Monday near the old TB Hospital under Kharagpur Nagar police station. He was badly injured and his right leg was attacked with a bottom bat and an iron rod. Because of this his leg was broken and one round was also fired in the air. According to the victim, Ranjit Sakhre, he was returning back to his home after leaving his children at school in the morning. During this, an unknown person came in front of his motorbike and stopped him. In the meantime, four five youths who were already hiding suddenly came and attacked him. During the attack, they fired in the air and ran away Injured Ranjeet was taken to Kharagpur Divisional Hospital for treatment. He went on to say that a few days earlier, the wife of Trinamool’s sitting councilor in Ward No. 15, Bonta Murali, was held hostage at gunpoint in a house (Railway Quarters) of social opponents and while committing the robbery, they fled with gold and silver jewellery. The police had also arrested four people involved in this case. The four accused were granted bail by the court. The police are investigating the deadly attack on the former councillor’s husband.Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, there is an atmosphere of fear and panic among the people of Kharagpur city due to the continuous increase in the morale of anti-social elements in Kharagpur city.
