The contest has become three-way and interesting because of the fight between political leaders from Attingal Lok Sabha constituency. Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan has been fielded by BJP in this seat. He started the election campaign on his victory in this area. Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar also came here to support the BJP candidate.

Speaking to the election campaign, Jaishankar said, “And Muraleedharan and I have worked very hard for the last five years. Today I want to say three things about him. The first thing is that he is a very people-oriented person. Second, the direct credit goes to him for improving passport services in the country. Third , he is known as Prime Minister Modi’s representative in the Gulf. Because of him relations with the Gulf, especially the UAE, have improved significantly. We want him back in Parliament as the voice of Kerala.
