Independent Left MLA PV Anwar accused CPI(M), LDF and Chief Minister Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan of corruption. On Friday, Marxist leader Vijayan rejected these allegations and called them an attempt to defame the ruling government. Talking to reporters in Thiruvananthapuram, the Kerala CM said that Anwar had made it clear in his comments that he would stay away from the Left Front.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said, “He has made his intentions clear in his comments. He has made it clear that he will distance himself from the LDF and will not attend parliamentary party meetings.” He further said that he rejects the allegations leveled by Anwar against the party, LDF and the state government. “This is an attempt to defame the LDF and the state government,” Vijayan said.

CM Vijayan dismissed the allegations

The Prime Minister said that the allegations made by Anwar are exactly the same as those the opposition has accused our government. Vijayan clarified that Anwar’s comments will not in any way affect the ongoing investigation and inquiry into the complaints and allegations made by him. Let us tell you that on Thursday, Anwar, while targeting the Vijayan government, accused it of diverting the public’s attention and also demanded that Mojian quit the Home Ministry post.

Anwar accused the police of not following proper procedures while seizing the precious metal from ‘carriers’ who brought gold illegally from abroad in about 180 gold smuggling cases in the country. Anwar called him a cheater, targeting the CM. He said the CPI(M ) ruling the state retracted the allegations leveled against ADGP MR Ajitkumar and political secretary to CM P Sasi.
