Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday told Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he will boycott the 7th Governing Council meeting of Niti Aayog on August 7 in strong protest against the Centre’s current ‘discriminatory’ course. Towards the states.

In his letter to Modi, KCR, also known as Rao, said that India can become a strong country only when the states are developed. Only strong and economically vibrant states can make India a strong country, he said.

“Considering these facts, it is not in my interest to attend the 7th Governing Council meeting of Niti Aayog on August 7, 2022, and I am abstaining from it as a sign of strong opposition against the current trend of the Central Government. The Government is discriminating against the States in our joint effort to make India a strong and developed nation. Nor are they treated as equal partners,” Rao said in the letter, detailing several reasons for boycotting the meeting.
