“Over the years, we’ve climbed many mountains together,” James wrote on Instagram, alongside a childhood photo with his older sibling. “As a family, we will climb this one with you too.”
“In January, I had major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, my condition was thought to be non-cancerous,” Kate explained in the clip. “The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found that cancer was present.”
He continued: “So my medical team said I should have a course of preventative chemotherapy and I’m now in the early stages of that treatment.”
“We wish Kate and the family health and healing, and hope they can do so privately and in peace,” read the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s statement.
The diagnosis of the Princess of Wales comes just over a month after the diagnosis of King Charles III, who announced on February 5 that he had started treatment for cancer. Likewise, Buckingham Palace did not reveal what type of cancer the 75-year-old British queen has, or its severity.
