Amid the Lok Sabha election campaign, the Karnataka Excise Department seized liquor worth Rs 98.52 crore from Chamarajanagar constituency in Mysuru rural district. The Election Commission provided this information. The Income Tax department and the Static Surveillance Team (SST) also seized cash worth Rs 3.53 crore.
According to the Election Commission, 1.22 million liters of liquor worth Rs 98.50 crore were seized in Chamarajangarh on Thursday. The IT department has seized Rs 2.20 crore from the Bangalore North Parliamentary Constituency. The SST seized Rs 35 lakh in cash during a probe in Gulbarga constituency of Kalburagi district and Rs 45 lakh in Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency. Voting for the Lok Sabha elections in Karnataka will be held in two phases on April 26 and May 27.
