Srinagar, October 31: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said on Tuesday that the people of Jammu and Kashmir should decide to work with great unity and one objective to make the country develop by 2047.
Highlighting the ‘Run for Unity’ to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Srinagar, an official spokesperson said in a statement issued here, the LG said, “Let us reawaken the values and vision propagated by Sardar Patel and work for peace, harmony and prosperity in the society.”
Administering the ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ pledge to the gathering at the Bakshi Stadium and Raj Bhavan, and paying tributes to Patel, he said: “Sardar Patel with his statesmanship, grit and courage united the country and defended its territorial integrity and ‘to sovereignty. that future generations may live in honour, peace and prosperity.”
Adviser to LG, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar; LG Chief Secretary Mandeep Bhandari was also present on the occasion.
