External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar clarified India’s position on PoK and terrorism. Foreign Minister says POK is an integral part of India. He said that this was not only the stand of the Bharatiya Janata Party but of the entire country.
There will be an appropriate response to terrorism
The foreign minister said that the main concern about Pakistan is terrorism. In such a situation, if an injustice occurs across the border from the neighboring country, a strong response will be given. He said we will not ignore terrorism and whenever terrorism spreads, we will deal with it because that was our record.
The entire country is united on the issue of PoK
Addressing a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram, the foreign minister said that on the PoK issue, it is not the stand of any party but the stand of the entire country. He said that the Parliament of India has taken a united stand on this, every political party in the country has supported this stand. Therefore we will never accept that PoK is not a part of India.
Challenging relations with China
When asked about relations with China, the foreign minister admitted that India has challenging relations with the neighboring country but a competitive approach will be adopted. He admitted that India’s relations with all its neighbors except Pakistan and China are much better. He said the people of Bangladesh and Sri Lanka think well of India because India stood by them during their deepest economic crisis. India played an important role in supplying vaccines, fertilizers and fuel to Nepal.
