Tasting Notes by Charles MacLean

Leven Blended Scotch Whiskey (Single Distillery Rich Rye) –

Amber in color with moderate beading. Mellow with a light sting. The top notes are round and reminiscent of Ryvita crispbread, with traces of vanilla toffee and green sticks. Lightly sweet taste at first, mouth drying, leading to a long spicy finish.

Balgonie Blended Scotch Whiskey (Smoke & Rye Single Distillery) –

Deep gold, with moderate beading. Mellow nose, round, without any sting. Faint oak notes support the main Butterscotch notes, with just a hint of mossy smoke with a drop of water. A fresh, sweet taste, with a fine smoke finish.

Pitkevy Single Malt Scotch Whiskey (Single Distillery Fine Smoke) –

Deep gold with light beading. Mellow nose without any sting. Top notes of light vanilla fudge, complemented by a freshly baked buttery scone, possibly with a drizzle of spun honey. The texture is light tooth coating and the flavor is sweet then savoury, with a hint of smoke in the aftertaste.
