IMF assessment mission to Pakistan – funds received

IMF review mission arrives in Pakistan, ninth economic review talks begin tomorrow (Tuesday).

The assessment mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has arrived in Islamabad for the 9th economic assessment talks with Pakistan. The assessment mission will stay in Pakistan for 10 days.

According to the report, initially technical level talks will be held for 3 days, policy level talks between Pakistan and IMF will continue till January 9.

The IMF will provide a briefing on the economic performance of Pakistan’s authorities from July to December 2022, and will also provide a statement on the $30 billion in losses and expenses incurred as a result of the floods.

Pakistan will receive $1.1 billion as it completes its ninth economic review with the IMF.

Pakistan International Monetary Fund will be briefed on measures related to tax revenue and exchange rate, current account deficit and energy sector reform, revolving credit and privatization program.
