The Redditor explained that when it came to their design philosophy they preferred to keep things as minimalist as possible.

“Get rid of all the clutter – all those things you tell yourself you need, and really don’t. That’s probably my #1 advice,” they wrote.

After clearing enough space by getting rid of unwanted items, buying helped them organize the important things.

“One of the best things I did for my tiny apartment was get a baker’s rack,” they revealed.

The organizing island helped them store pots, pans and other kitchen essentials in one place and all while maintaining arm’s length.

In a small space added storage unit made a dramatic difference.

“My kitchen is tiny and there is only enough cupboard space for food or dishes, so the extra space really helped to avoid some of the clutter in the kitchen,” they explained.

In addition to the functional purchase, some cleaning habits kept their home in tip-top condition.

“Cleaning once a week is a must for me. Not the whole apartment at once but at least focusing on one room,” they explained.

The arrangement not only improved the appearance of the space, but also came with additional productivity benefits.

“I feel like I’m more motivated to be organized if the space looks nice,” they said.

For those who struggled with keeping their home clean, they explained that breaking the issue down into incremental steps was key.

“Try to understand what your ‘problem spaces’ are and how to defeat them,” they said.

“Maybe that means reorganizing, getting more storage furniture, or getting rid of stuff altogether.”

My kitchen is tiny and there is only enough cabinet space for food or dishes, so the extra space really helped eliminate some of the clutter in the kitchen.

Many people, they explained, had more possessions than they knew what to do with.

“Find out what you really need right now and what you don’t, and get rid of those things as best you can,” they said.
