A car specialist who bought Manchester United star Marcus Rashford’s Rolls Royce for £184,000 has had to take out a second car to fix it up.

Matt Armstrong is bringing the football pro’s £700,000 Mansory Black Badge Wraith back to life after it was destroyed in a collision with Rashford behind the wheel.

The engine snapped up the luxury wheels for an eye-watering £184,000 at auction – and quickly racked up millions of views on social media.

Now Matt is faced with the incredible feat of restoring the car, which has severe damage to its left side and less than 1,000 miles on the clock.

In an effort to cut costs, he put an extra Rolls-Royce to use for parts.

In a video on his YouTube channel, @MatArmstrongMK2, the expert said: “It’s going to be the sacrifice car, it’s a huge risk because it was £97,000 and she’s going to build it which we think will be worth £500,000.

“It goes against everything I’ve ever done, take a good car off the road.

“I think it was in our best interest, but I would regret not doing it.”

A little dirty, a little worse for wear, but we’re going to clean it up and hopefully use it a lot with the parts that aren’t broken in Rashford’s, making one good out of two.

Matt and his team drove the luxury engine back to their shop not even knowing if the parts were the same as Rashford’s.

The new car, which has been affectionately nicknamed Sue, will be essential in getting ‘Margaret Mansouri’ back on the road.

With the help of Matt’s mechanic dad, they took the wheels off, removed the exhaust pipe and stripped the sub.

They took a hit after discovering that Sue’s entire left wing was actually made of steel rather than carbon fiber – meaning they would have to shell out thousands more for a Mansouri wing.

After removing the front sub, Matt said: “A bit dirty, a bit worse for wear, but we’re going to clean it up and hopefully use it a lot with the parts that aren’t broken in Rashford’s, and make a good one out of two.”

It comes as the Manchester United star himself lends a helping hand in the rebuild.

The soccer star’s team reached out and gave Matt a secret code to start the car, as well as a spare key.

Big help

A statement from Rashford’s team said: “Hi, I look after all Marcus cars, I believe we still have some parts of the car that you may need.

“We might have the spare v5 key and a few other parts from when the car was recovered.

“We also have the ghost code and tracking information if you want us to pass them on to you?”

Matt found that the help saved him a huge chunk of cash.

He also received a car cover worth £590, floor mats worth £1,300, a grill cover worth £4,200, a boot mat worth £680 and a wheel cover worth £110.

Matt added: “I want to say thank you to Rashford’s team for giving us all that because they didn’t have to.

“It saved us so much money.”

A car restoration genius is planning a raffle for a signed part of the car in the hope that Rashford will sign it.

He then wants to donate the £1 entry fee to food bank charity FareShare.

The restoration should hope to make a profit of £500,000
