On Saturday, Majlis-e-Muslimeen supremo Asaduddin Owaisi opposed the much-debated UAPA law. He said there was concern about the future of the Muslims, tribals and Dalits arrested under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act. Referring to the High Court, he said that it seemed that the Modi government would improve after seeing the election results, but that did not happen.

Owaisi wrote in a social media post that the UAPA Act is again under discussion today. This is a very cruel law, under which thousands of Muslim, Dalit and tribal youths were imprisoned. Because of this his life was ruined. The AIMIM chief further claimed that strict rules led to the death of 85-year-old Stan Swamy. Tribal activist Swamy died in judicial custody in 2021. He was arrested under UAPA in the Bhima Koregaon violence case in 2018.

Owaisi opposed the Unlawful Activities Amendment Bill, 2019 in the Lok Sabha and blamed the Congress for enacting the UAPA Act. He said this law was tightened by the Congress government in 2008 and 2012. Even then I was against it. In 2019, when BJP again introduced stricter provisions and reliefs, Congress supported BJP. Again I objected to this law. He said I expected Modi 3.0 to take some lessons from the election results, but he also fell short of our expectations. The horrors and horrors will continue. The Hyderabad MP said sarcastically that he hoped Prime Minister Narendra Modi would learn something from the Lok Sabha election results. But the results crushed his hopes.

Let us tell you that earlier this week, Delhi Lt. Governor VK Saxena proposed prosecution of Booker Prize-winning author Arundhati Roy and former professor of international law at the Central University of Kashmir, Sheikh Shaukat Hussain, for making an inflammatory speech at a public event in 2010. Approved. The officials of the deputy governor’s secretariat said that the first information report in this case was submitted on November 28, 2010 by order of the metropolitan judge on charges of sedition, promoting enmity between different groups on the basis of religion, status, place of birth, residence and language and causing damage to national unity. He was prosecuted for the offense of accusation and statements . Allegedly, Roy and Hussain delivered rousing speeches at a conference organized under the banner of ‘Azadi-The Only Way’ at the LTG Auditorium, Copernicus Marg on October 21, 2010. Among the issues discussed and mentioned in the conference, the separation of Kashmir from India was allegedly promoted. Meanwhile, the Lok Sabha results were a blow to both the alliances as the BJP failed to cross the majority mark of 272 seats this time. While in 2014 it got only 282 seats and in 2019 it got only 303 seats. Bharat bloc failed to come to power.

BJP won 240 seats in the results released by the Election Commission of India. This was much less compared to 303 seats in 2019. At the same time, the Congress secured 99 seats and won 99 seats. The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance won 293 seats. While Bharat Block competed hard and crossed the 230 mark.
