Karachi (News Desk) Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has been elected as Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan.

The new Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan has been announced. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman from Karachi was elected as the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan in the elections.

Jamaat-e-Islami Election Commission President Rashid Naseem said in a press conference that 82% voting was done in the election of Jamaat-e-Islami chief, 6,000 women members out of a total of 45,000 votes.

Rashid Naseem said that Jamaat-e-Islami elections are held every five years since 1941. Every member can be a candidate in the election, but the Shura gives three names as a guide.

This time the Central Shura proposed three names to lead the Jamaat members. Among them were Sirajul Haq, Liaqat Baloch and Hafiz Naeemur Rahman.

Siraj-ul-Haq was elected Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami in 2014, he held this position for ten years. Before him, Syed Manwar Hassan, Qazi Hussain Ahmad, Mian Tufail Muhammad and Maulana Syed Abul Ala Maududi were responsible for this responsibility. Jamaat-e-Islami was founded by Syed Abul Ala Maududi in 1941.
