On the spot, the police arrested the accused Akhilesh alias Akhil from Didwan, Rajasthan on Sunday and recovered 4 laptops and 10 mobile phones from the possession of the two accused.

This is how they used to commit crimes The accused had created a fake website of DMart. They used to give discount offers on household items and other items on that fake website. To ensure that more people see the website, the accused used to run advertisements on social media such as Telegram, Facebook, Instagram etc. On seeing the advertisement, people would visit the site to buy the goods and after seeing the attractive offers, they would buy the goods.

The accused used to take payment for the goods only through credit and debit cards. During this time, after taking all the card information, a fake order success message was displayed on the website and sent to the customer’s mobile phone. During this time, by tricking customers into tracking the delivery of orders, they used to download fake apps on their mobile phones and access their cards and SMS.

Using the said debit and credit cards, the accused used to defraud people by purchasing coupons from various companies on the online magic pin site. Later, by selling the coupons on sites like Telegram etc., they used to transfer the money to fake accounts by selling them to the people associated with the group at half the rate.
