A hairstylist working in the Bengali film and television industry attempted suicide by setting herself on fire after losing her job. The hairdresser accused some of his colleagues of preventing him from getting a job. The police said that before the suicide attempt, the employee recorded and wrote a note. In doing so, he held 10 people responsible for his plight. Subsequently, the Federation of Cinema Technicians and Workers of Eastern India, the premier organization of technicians and managers, sought an investigation into the allegations.
