A PWD source who spoke to GPlus said, “Construction work on the stretch from Battalion Gate to Cycle Factory is on hold for Durga Puja, so the one-way restriction has been temporarily lifted on that stretch,” adding that the construction work will be suspended during the Puja celebrations.

It must be mentioned that due to the construction work since last month, the vehicles from the battalion gate were diverted towards Dhirenpara via Barsapara creating a huge traffic jam.

Although the one-way restriction from the battalion gate to the bicycle factory has been canceled, the section from the bicycle factory to Birubari is still one-way. The PWD and traffic police officials are trying if the restriction can be lifted there for poojas as well.

A senior official from PWD but informed that during Durga Puja the construction work of Ganesh flyover and Chanmari elevated corridor will be suspended.
