Guwahati: A group of food delivery riders reportedly staged a protest in Lachit Nagar, Uluvari, on Tuesday, September 30, following an incident involving alleged misconduct towards one of their peers.

The incident reportedly took place at a popular fast food chain two days earlier on September 28, when one of the deliveries was allegedly physically abused by a staff member at the restaurant during the food delivery process.
The rider reported that the situation quickly escalated, when the crew refused to pass the command, while at the same time continuing to abuse the delivery rider involved in the fight.
Following the incident, several food delivery passengers gathered in protest on Monday, demanding accountability and an official response from management. In an attempt to address the situation, the manager of the outlet addressed the upset crowd, promising to provide a solution to the situation within two days.
Despite the manager’s promises, many riders remain skeptical. "It’s not just about one case," one of them reportedly said. "This is about our rights and how we are often treated by the staff regarding the booking process."
As of now, no FIR has been lodged regarding the incident.
