Guwahati: A 24-year-old man, identified as Bikash Barua from Damaji, was arrested on Saturday, June 15, for absconding with a 17-year-old girl from Guwahati to Kerala.

An official from the Chandmari police station told GPlus, "The couple eloped a few months ago. Initially, another man took her, but later she was found with Bikash." The girl’s family filed a complaint at the Chandamari police station.
Based on the complaint, the police successfully nabbed both Bikash and the minor girl from Kerala and brought them to Guwahati. They are now in custody at the Chandmari police station. Bikash is charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO).
