Golaghat College of Commerce of Assam has been granted autonomous status for 10 years by UGC Achi-News

GUWAHATI: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has granted autonomous status to Golaghat College of Commerce. The decision, adopted at its meeting on August 27, was passed on Tuesday, September 24.

The decision to grant autonomous status to Golghat College of Commerce was made in accordance with Section 7.5 of the UGC Regulations (Granting Autonomous Status to Colleges and Measures to Maintain Standards in Autonomous Colleges), 2023 for a period of 10 years from the academic year 2024-2025 to 2033-2034.

As Golaghat Commerce College is under Dibrugarh University, Golaghat Commerce College is bound to follow all the provisions of UGC Regulations for Autonomous Colleges. In cases of violations of the instructions, actions can be taken as detailed in Section 13 of the UGC Regulations, 2023.

The university has been asked to give a necessary notification within 30 days regarding the granting of autonomous status. The college must submit an application for the extension of its autonomous status at least three months before the completion of the autonomy period.
