India blasts Germany’s ‘obvious interference’ over Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest

NEW DELHI: The Indian government has reacted strongly to Germany’s response to the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal. This is total interference in India’s internal affairs. To this extent, the Department of External Affairs has expressed its deep displeasure over the announcement made by that country by summoning the German ambassador in Delhi.

“India is a democratic country. Judicial autonomy and minimum democratic principles apply to India. Kejriwal deserves an impartial and fair trial like everyone else. He can be questioned without arrest. The principle of ‘innocent until proven guilty’ also applies to Kejriwal,” Germani said in a controversial statement on the Delhi CM’s arrest. This is now the reason for the central government’s anger.

If this is true.. Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on Thursday evening (March 21) in the Delhi Liquor Policy case. After that, on Friday, while appearing in Rouse Avenue Court, the court sentenced Kejriwal to six days imprisonment. AAP workers and leaders are protesting against Kejriwal’s arrest in the country as well as abroad. It is known that AAP has announced that it will also besiege Prime Minister Modi’s house on the 26th of this month. On the other hand, the opposition Indian League also strongly condemned the arrest of Kejriwal. He also revealed that they will file a complaint against his arrest with the Central Election Commission.
