The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) won 293 seats in the Lok Sabha elections. Narendra Modi was elected as the leader of the NDA. All constituent parties submitted their letters of support. Now Modi will be sworn in as Prime Minister for the third time. However, there is doubt about the date of his inauguration. It was reported that the inauguration date for the position of Prime Minister has been changed. Now Modi will be sworn in as the Prime Minister of India for the third time on June 9. A letter of resignation was submitted to the President
Modi submitted his resignation letter to President Murmu on Wednesday before the swearing-in ceremony. The President accepted the resignation letter of Narendra Modi and his ministers and also asked him to remain the de facto Prime Minister until the formation of the new government.
21 leaders signed and accepted Modi as the leader of the alliance.
Just a day before, the NDA had unanimously accepted Narendra Modi as its leader. In a meeting held in New Delhi on Wednesday, 21 NDA leaders signed a letter accepting Modi as their leader. Due to this, the way was cleared for Narendra Modi to become the Prime Minister once again. At the meeting, all the leaders also congratulated Prime Minister Modi for his tenure and development work in the country in the last 10 years.
The Election Commission of India on Tuesday announced the results of Lok Sabha elections 2024. In this, BJP got maximum 240 seats followed by Congress in second place with 99 seats. However, compared to last time, BJP lost 32 seats in this election. This is the first time since 2014 that the BJP did not get an absolute majority.
