For transparency in the country’s medical education, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has decided to publish the details of all medical colleges. In an order issued to the states, NMC said that in order to ensure transparency in functioning, the Council for Undergraduate Medical Education has taken this decision, under which all the details of the medical colleges that hold the MBBS course will be published.
This complete information will be available to the general public. Whenever a person wants, he can find out which medical college has the best infrastructure available. Not only that, many types of disputes and discussions regarding the presence of employees often arise. After this decision, the attendance and numbers of faculty and other employees will also be public. A senior NMC official even says that the biggest advantage of this decision will be that the truth of the medical colleges’ claims will be revealed. Many times the reality at ground level is different, which the general public is more aware of. Every year, for the purpose of increasing seats or applying for recognition, the medical colleges submit their information to the commission, which will be published publicly on the NMC’s own website.
The director of the board Shambhu Sharan Kumar said in the order issued that the general public can get the details of these medical colleges. This will be available under the annual option available on the NMC website with effect from the academic year 2024-25.
