MPPSC has declared the result of State Service Examination 2021 late on Thursday evening. Deputy Collector Amit Soni posted in Guna has secured second position in the state. He has scored 921.25 marks out of 1500. He has been posted in Guna for the last six months. This was his third attempt. He is originally from Satna district. Dainik Bhaskar spoke to the second MP topper. He covered all the topics including questions asked in the interview and preparation for the exam. Find out from him, how was his journey. Question – How did you prepare? How much time did you devote to studying each day? Answer – PSC preparation started from the year 2018. I gave my first attempt for the 2019 exam. After that, exams were given continuously in 2020 and 2021. In 2019, I was selected for the post of Deputy Collector. In the same way, I have got the second position in the 2021 exam. I have made full preparations for the job. On an average, he used to devote three to four hours to studies every day. Used to giving a little more time on weekends. If you follow the entire syllabus according to a particular course with proper planning, then selections will be made easily. Question – You are already a Deputy Collector. Then why re-exam? Answer- In fact, many audits of the Commission were pending for a long time. An important fact in the 2019 audit result was that this result was the subject of the court process. In such a situation, there is also a feeling of fear. So, taking a safe side, I gave the interview for 2021 as well. Because there was not much gap in the exams, the results of all these exams came almost at the same time and many selections are held continuously. Question – What questions were asked in the interview? Answer- My interview was in Koshti table sir and the interview was held after lunch. As soon as I started, he asked me for my introduction. In the introduction I told about my current job and education. His first question was that you are the Deputy Collector, so why do you want to come. So I gave a short answer. After that I felt that Koshti Sir was more interested in the field of economy. He asked questions related to economy only. The Bretton Woods conferences were held in the economy, there were questions related to World Trade Organization subsidies, agreements on agriculture, like blue box subsidies, amber box subsidies, all these. There were questions about what difference depreciation makes and what difference overvaluation makes in the international money market. There was another member of the interview board, apparently he was more interested in history, so he asked questions related to history. He asked many questions related to the Act of 1919, the Act of 1909, the Indian Independence Act, when it was passed and what were the important provisions in it. Some questions were about my personal hobbies and interests. Question- Does the board create more questions based on the answers given by you? Answer – As soon as we speak some phrases in the interview, the interviewer picks some words from those phrases and creates new questions. As I said in the introduction that I am getting my job as a Deputy Collector in Guna district, then he asked the same question as I am already a Deputy Collector, why the intermediate again. As I said about my education, another question was asked, if you are from the field of Electrical Engineer, then how will you use it in this field. You can anticipate the maximum number of interview questions you will answer in the presentation. Question – Now, what tips would you give to the students who are going to sit the exam? Answer- In general, when we start preparing, the situation is as it was in the year 2018, there is a completely blank page. We don’t know where else to go. The most important thing is the fact that you need guidance first. You can get that through training, through a mentor or through any of your friends who have been selected earlier. Take proper guidance from someone. Pick up the exam syllabus. And the way to not ask anything from anyone is to look at previous exam question papers. If you see them, you will automatically get an idea about how to prepare in Prelims, how to prepare for the questions in Mains and how you will perform in the interview. Get help with courses, get coaching guidance, get help with some training material. All of them will have an inclusive approach and if you stay regular, you will be able to pass any exam with ease.
