Guwahati: A massive fire broke out in a house in Saranagar, Guwahati, on September 18, around 1 pm, with eyewitnesses reporting probable cylinder explosions. At least four large fire tenders and one small one from Dispor were fighting the fire at the time of filing the report.

Beit Blain No. 6, owned by Bino Berman, also has few tenants. The neighbors first tried to control the fire before the fire brigade arrived. According to the locals, there were three cylinder explosions.
The police also arrived at the scene. A fire department official told GPlus, "We suspect a cylinder explosion. We sent six fire tenders, with three already on the scene, working to control the fire."
