A special POCSO court in Beauvais, Arunachal Pradesh has sentenced a man accused of sexually assaulting 21 children, including 15 girls, to death. The other two involved in the case were sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment. The main accused has been identified as Yomken in Agra. He was the warden at Karoo Government School in Shi-Yumi District, where he sexually assaulted 21 children, including 15 girls aged six to 15, from 2019 to 2022.
Those involved in the crime were a teacher at the Marbom Ngomdir school and the former principal of the Singtun Yorpen school. Begra was convicted under Sections 328 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 6, 10 and 12 of the POCSO Act. The matter came to light when two sisters complained to their parents on November 2 last year. An FIR was filed two days later. Bagra fled, but was arrested by the police in November last year.
