Karni Sena leader Raj Shahwat was arrested outside Ahmedabad airport in Gujarat. Karni Sena leaders prepared to lay siege to the BJP headquarters in Gandhinagar following Rupala’s remarks. Assistant Commissioner of Police VN Yadav informed that we have taken Raj Shehwat into custody from the airport.
Union Minister Prashotham Rupala, while addressing a meeting on March 22, said that the then Maharajas had surrendered before the oppression of foreign rulers as well as the British. Not only that, these maharajas also broke bread with these rulers and even carried their daughters to them. This was strongly condemned by the Rajput community and demanded from the BJP government that Rupala’s Lok Sabha ticket should be withdrawn. However, after the controversy escalated, Rupala also apologized.
The Rajput community united and protested, saying they would not settle for anything less than the refund of the tickets.

In this sequence, a plan was made by Karni Sena to besiege the BJP Kamalam office in Gandhi Nagar. The information about him was given by Shahwat through a post on X on Sunday. In it the members of the Kshatriya community and their supporters were asked to rake ‘kamalam’ on Tuesday at 2:00 pm and come with saffron flags and sticks and join the protest.
The police arrested him from the airport before the demonstration
Following Raj Shahwat’s post, tight police security has been deployed at the state BJP headquarters. On Tuesday, as soon as Shahwat left the airport, a police team took him into custody.
