Congress calls electoral bonds a “prepaid, postpaid” bribery scheme. Achi-News

“Out of the total donations of Rs 543 crore from shell companies, the BJP alone received Rs 419 crore from 16 shell companies,” Jairam revealed.

An analysis of data released by the Election Commission of India shows that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has received Rs 6,060 crore in electoral bonds since April 2019.

Among the 487 donors, the top 10 contributors alone contributed Rs 2,119 crore, which is 35 percent of the total money received, marking the highest amount among all political parties.

The senior Congress leader also claimed that there are four patterns of obvious corruption taking place under the electoral bond schemes namely 1) prepaid bribery 2) postpaid bribery 3) extortion and 4) shell companies.
