‘Communists have destroyed democracy in Tripura during 35 years of rule…’ says Tripura Chief Minister – News18 Bangla Achi-News

Abir Ghoshal, Agartala: ”The Communists destroyed democracy in the state during their 35 year long rule. And now the Congress is talking about democracy. During their time, the people of the state saw only murders, terrorism, arson and a volatile situation. The government led by the Bharatiya Janata Party has always believed in the democratic system and works for the general welfare of the people. This election meeting was organized to support a candidate nominated by the Bharatiya Janata Party for the West Tripura constituency in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The prime minister said in the meeting that the communists often say that democracy has been stolen from Tripura. Let us inform you that communists have a book. Where first of all it is written that we must run a dictatorship. And how will they run this dictatorship? They want to stay in government by calling for a revolution with the working class people. We have seen the democracy they achieved during their rule of almost 35 years in the state. They have lost the respect of women. The people of this state have seen incidents of murder, terrorism, arson, sexual violence etc. during every election. The Congress also says that there is no democracy in the country. What did they do during the crisis? From journalists to opposition leaders, those protesting were jailed. And now they talk about democracy. We have shown how to hold peaceful elections in the state in 2023. How the election was held so peacefully without any kind of violence or incident has become a topic of discussion across the country. However, the long rule of the communists and the 5-year rule of the Congress coalition government could not hold elections without incident.

Addressing the public meeting, Prime Minister Dr Saha said, “Communists were proud of scientific fury. They did not allow to reflect the will of the human mind in different ways. Even prevented from voting. In that place, in the assembly elections in 2023, we have shown how to defend democracy. Elections in Buxnagar and Dhanpur by-elections were also completed without any untoward incident. In Buxnagar, even the securities of the opposition were confiscated. Bharatiya Janata Party candidate won 35 thousand votes. In Dhanpur also, the voting rate has increased several times compared to the last time. Our candidate won 18 thousand votes. We have shown what democracy is. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taught us how to work for the welfare of people by protecting democracy. Wherever communists have ruled, democracy has been lost. They also ruled West Bengal for many years. And now the Trinamool Congress regime is a carbon copy of the Communists.

Manik Saha also said that there are 42 seats in the Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal. The Bharatiya Janata Party got 18 of these 42 seats last time. Dr Saha expressed the view that the number of seats will increase this time under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the Prime Minister has given a target of 370 seats to the Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. And the government will be established in the middle with more seats than that target. The opposition has no more ground under its feet. They have no problem. So now they have teamed up with India to protect their existence. Congress says they have not joined CPM, they have joined INDIA alliance. This is strange politics. But now ‘A’ has gone from that INDIA. That alliance will also slowly disappear. People understand everything now. People will stay with the government that can ensure security and maintain peace. It is only a matter of time before the Bharatiya Janata Party candidates win both the constituencies in Tripura with a huge majority in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The meeting was attended by Bharatiya Janata Party state president Rajeev Bhattacharya, West Tripura Lok Sabha seat candidate Biplap Kumar Dev, BJP Mahila Morcha president Mimi Majumdar and other prominent leaders.
