COAS Qamar Bajwa, Japanese Ambassador discusses partnership in humanitarian operations
RAWALPINDI (92 News) – Ambassador of Japan Wada Mitsuhiro called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ on Thursday.
During the meeting, issues of mutual interest, regional security situation and cooperation/partnership in humanitarian operations were discussed.
COAS said Pakistan respects Japan’s role in global and regional affairs. “We look forward to enhancing our bilateral relationship.”
Expressing his grief over the devastation caused by the floods in Pakistan, the Ambassador conveyed his deepest condolences to the families of the victims. He extended full support to the people of Pakistan. He also appreciated the efforts of the Pakistan Army to assist the civil administration in rescue and relief work in the flood-affected areas.
The COAS thanked Japan for its support and reiterated that the assistance of their global partners in the rescue/rehabilitation of the victim was paramount.
