COAS Qamar Bajwa discusses IMF plan with Saudi and UAE officials

Rawalpindi (92 News) – COAS Qamar Bajwa interacted with officials of Saudi Arabia and UAE over phone.

During the conversation, he discussed a matter related to the IMF project. According to sources, Pakistan will get some good news soon.

A few days ago, COAS Qamar Bajwa appealed to the White House to help Islamabad in early disbursement of USD 1.2 billion under the IMF program to reduce the risk of loan default.

On July 13, the International MonetACHI Fund (IMF) announced that it had reached an agreement with Pakistan to resume a suspended credit program worth $1.17 billion.

According to an IMF report, IMF staff and Pakistani officials have reached a staff-level agreement on policies for completing the combined 7th and 8th reviews of Pakistan’s Expanded Financial Facility (EFF). A meeting of the IMF Executive Board will be held at the end of August if adequate financing for Pakistan is assured.
