According to today’s information, on Saturday, CM will perform Bhoomi Pujan of Kanh Diversion Closure Duct Project to be constructed in Ujjain at a cost of Rs 598.66 crore. A barrage will be constructed on the Kanh river near Jamalpura village to prevent the sewage water of Indore and Saver from mixing with the Shipra river through the Kanh river. The sewage containing water will be diverted to the Gambhir River downstream of the Gambhir Dam through a closed pipe. This work will be done keeping the upcoming Simhastha in mind. Under the project, underground and open channels will be constructed, through which sewage water will be discharged. The time limit for construction work in the project has been kept at 42 months. Provision for 15 years of operation and maintenance has also been made therein. Apart from the initial end and the terminal end, four number of access routes are offered in the duct. The width of the section has been kept at 4.5 metres, the same as the duct. Through this, the access of heavy machinery is also ensured to carry out cleaning work inside the duct.
