The alleged attack on two youths from Bihar by people claiming to be from the police in Siliguri, West Bengal, has created a political uproar. He further said that the news of brutal attack on Bihari students in West Bengal is very unfortunate and condemnable. Will the leaders of the opposition party still be silent?
Shirag Paswan further wrote in his post- I want to ask the Leader of Opposition of Bihar, on what basis will you support Trinamool Congress now? I request Hon’ble Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to conduct a thorough investigation in this matter and take legal action against the culprits.

Jiraj Singh’s scathing attack on Mamata Banerjee
BJP leader and textile minister Jiraj Singh also released a video claiming that in West Bengal a red carpet was rolled out for the Rohingya Muslims, while the people of Bihar were beaten during the inspection. He also referred to the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata as well as criticism of Mamata Banerjee’s government for its handling of the case and asked whether they had decided to protect only the rapists.
What happened in the video of the attack?
A viral video of the attack shows two people sleeping when some assailants enter their room, wake them up and ask in Bengali where they came from. They are asked if they understand Bengali and when they say they are from Bihar, they are asked what the purpose of their visit is. One of the boys, Anchit Yadav, said that he came to report for the physical examination. On this one of the attackers asks Ankit how they can do the exam in Bengal when they are not from this country.
When Ankit tells that he has been allotted a Siliguri centre, the attacker says that only residents of Bengal can apply for this centre. The attackers then ask Ankit to produce his documents claiming they are from the police. During this argument the accused started threatening the boys, Ankit asks them to take them to the police station. During this he is pushed and knocked down. On him Ankit says he will return to Bihar. Then the two young men from Bihar are made to sit together and are warned not to come to Bengal to take the exam again. At the end of the video, Ankit Yadav pleads with the attackers and promises that he will return home.
