Calgary Women in Need Society (WINS) has received a significant donation to help its clients.

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA), a non-profit organization founded in 2004, has donated 43 refurbished laptops to WINS.

“The (ERA) is proud to support (WINS) in their mission to empower individuals and families in need,” said ERA founder and CEO Bojan Paduh.

Paduh said ERA hopes the donation will help bridge the “digital divide.”

“We believe that access to technology is essential in today’s digital age, and by donating these laptops, we hope to contribute to promoting and enriching the community,” said Paduh.

WINS currently operates six thrift store locations and a donation center, helping more than 17,000 people in Calgary.

“For more than three decades, (WINS) has been committed to helping people in need in Calgary through our community programs that provide basic needs, emotional support and essential resources,” WINS says.

“We are able to do this through revenue generated through our thrift stores, and through the generous donations of Calgarians.”
